Gilman Management Corporation was founded in 1945 and has been in continuous operation ever since. Our Founder, Alvin Gilman (1915 - 2006) remained active in its operation until 1993 when he retired. Currently the Company is run by the third generation of the Gilman Family, Mr. Robert Raphael. The Company has stayed true to its founder’s twin objectives of strategic acquisitions and hands on management.

In 1996, Gilman Management Corporation recruited Mr. Lee Deane as an additional principal in their real estate acquisition and management group. Mr. Deane, a veteran of Manhattan’s top real estate companies, has been an important part of Gilman Management’s continued expansion. Likewise, Gilman Management has been active in recruiting young talent to whose enthusiasm complements the principals’ decades of experience.

Though initially focusing on residential multi-family assets in New York City, the successive generations have expanded the reach of Gilman Management to Long Island, Pennsylvania and New England. To be sure, it has not abandoned its focus on residential properties, and in the 1990's embarked on a strategy in locating up and coming areas in New York City. That strategy proved successful, with the Gilman Company group acquiring properties in the East Village and Williamsburg sections of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Currently, the Gilman Management affiliates are owners and operators of properties whose net worth exceeds four hundred million ($400,000,000.00) dollars and includes 3500 residential units in one hundred properties through the New York tri-state area, as well as shopping centers and office buildings (attached is a partial list of the Gilman Management Properties).

For all its growth and expertise, Gilman Management stays true to its tried and tested format of strategic strategies. This patience has rewarded the company with an uninterrupted history of stability and growth, despite the many turbulent periods the real estate market has experienced in Gilman Management’s eight decades of existence.
